PCC Farmland Trust
We give Profits for the Planet funds to PCC Farmland Trust, which secures, preserves and stewards threatened farmland in the Northwest. The trust takes a step further than most land trusts by placing farmers on the property and ensuring the land is used to produce organic food for the local community.
In 2009, the trust used Profits for the Planet funds to secure an organic agricultural conservation easement on Orting Valley Farms, 100 acres in Pierce County, outside of Tacoma, WA.
Profits for the Planet funds helped to
protect the 100-acre Orting Valley Farms
from development. Today, three organic
farming businesses work this protected land.
