Apply for a PFP grant
Need help helping the planet?
We award Profits for the Planet (PFP) funding and accept grant requests throughout the year. We support efforts that help protect and restore the environment and generate measurable results.
Our funding priorities fall into 4 principal categories:
* Family Farming
* Slowing or Reversing Climate Change
* Organic Agriculture and Reduction of Toxins in Agriculture and the Food Supply
* Avoiding Adverse Health Impacts from Environmental and Agricultural Practices
If your project and proposal falls into one of these buckets, please feel free to send it along.
To apply for a PFP grant, send us a written request of 500 or fewer words. Tell us who you are, what your mission is, what your goals are, how you plan to achieve them, what you've accomplished, and how you'd use the grant. Include a detailed project budget and, where applicable, proof of 501(c)3 tax-exempt status. We also suggest that applicants submit a tiered proposal with the cost of each item broken out. That way if we cannot provide the full requested amount for your project, we might be able to grant partial funding.
Please note that we are not a typical foundation and thus do not have the staffing to return or make calls or to assist with specific inquiries and requests for help with proposals. We are a business that is trying to do some good in the world by giving back, but unfortunately we don't have the people or time to answer every question or grant every funding request.
Please send your request by email to:

UPDATE (Spring 2010)
This year, we have been literally overwhelmed with requests, stemming both from the difficult economy, but also a growing awareness of climate, toxins, family farming and organic/health issues. Accordingly, we have made all of our 2010 commitments. Thus, any new requests will be considered for funding in 2011. If your project is more urgent, we are unfortunately unable to help you this year.
We are sorry that we cannot provide any more information than is available through this website and we appreciate your patience. If you do apply, it may take several months for you to hear back, but please know that we review and give each and every proposal due consideration.
If we decline your request, please know this is not a reflection on the value of your program. It only indicates that Stonyfield Farm's funds are limited.
Thank you for your interest in Stonyfield's Profits for the Planet program.

None, as long as it's legal! - Can any of the grant money be used for staff funding?
Sure. We make judgments on the merits of the overall program, not the specific line items. - Do you fund projects outside of the United States?
Rarely. - If our grant is awarded, what kind of recognition do you request?
We work this out on a case-by-case basis, but ensuring that Stonyfield Farm receives proper recognition is an important factor in our consideration. - Our grant request was declined - may we apply again next year?
Absolutely! - Our grant request was declined - do you have any recommendations to improve our application?
