We think organic is just plain better
In May of 2010, the President’s Cancer Panel Report recommended food grown without pesticides or chemical fertilizers, antibiotics and growth hormones, to help decrease the risk of contracting cancer.
Here at Stonyfield, we think organic food is better for you, better for the planet, better for farmers, and better for farm animals.
For you
Research has shown that an organic diet can quickly and dramatically reduce exposures to a dangerous class of insecticides known to disrupt neurological development in infants and children.
Research has also shown organic milk to have more omega-3 fatty acids, and organic fruits and veggies to have up to 30% more antioxidants.
For the planet
Organic farmers don't use toxic, persistent pesticides, which contaminate soil, air and waterways. When you buy our products, you help keep more than 180,000 acres in organic cultivation.
For farmers
Organic farming doesn't expose farmers, their employees or their family members to dangerous pesticides. The organic market has also kept many family farms economically viable when they'd have otherwise struggled to stay in business.
For animals
On organic farms, specific animal welfare conditions are required by law-conditions including access to outdoors and pasture for dairy cows. Our national organic standards were shaped with input from the American Humane Association and the Humane Society.
