We support hundreds of farmers who supply us with organic milk
and we’ve helped to convert many others from conventional
dairy practices to organic—a process that can take several
years. For farming families, a conversion from conventional to
organic can mean a big difference in the prices they are paid for
the milk they sell. That’s good for the families!
It’s also good for the economy and the community. Too
many family farms have been lost over the past two decades, giving
way to large commercial operations that may produce an unhealthy
product and create unhealthy conditions in which the animals live. Commercial,
conventional farming operations are destroying a way of life across
the United States.
Most of the milk that goes into making our organic yogurt comes from
dairy farmers who are members of the Organic
Valley Farm Cooperative.
