The President’s Pasture
After a bitter cold winter here in New Hampshire we welcome
the arrival of spring. True to the local saying "April
showers bring May flowers," the early spring rains have
begun. So too, will we be “showering” you with
a variety of new products and changes that we’re very
excited about.
On the product front this week, we will begin shipping two
new
Smoothie flavors — Vanilla and Tropical Banana.
They’re big hits with the folks at Stonyfield —
disappearing moments after being placed in the employee fridge!
And, we’re introducing a new
YoBaby yogurt flavor—yummy pear. You’ll also
be seeing big changes in the packaging of our YoBaby, O’Soy
and Kids’ multi-packs. We’ve purchased a new
"form, fill, and seal" filling machine which
means instead of buying empty cups and having them shipped
to Stonyfield Farm, we can actually form the cups right on
the filling machine at our Yogurt Works. We’re thrilled
with the environmental savings from the new machine, which
decreases the packaging for our multi-packs by over 37%! The
new packs are also a lot more convenient for you.
Another exciting change is the conversion of our all natural
Fat
Free 32oz. cups to organic. With this conversion, over
80% of Stonyfield Farm sales will now be from certified organic
products! This equates to tens of thousands of acres of land
farmed organically. Thank you to the hard working staff and
farmers at Organic Valley who have labored to bring on new
organic farms to produce the milk for us.
And finally, we’ve launched our Stonyfield
Farm BLOGS! We’ve created five web logs for you
to visit to get an in-depth look at the goings on at Stonyfield
Farm and to engage on important environmental and health and
wellness issues.
So, as you can see, it hasn’t been a quiet winter around
Stonyfield Farm. We hope you enjoy all the changes. As always,
we love to hear from you!

What’s a blog?
A blog is a daily journal that is available on the web. It’s
somewhat like an online chat room or a discussion board. Postings
are conversational and appear from the most recent entry down to
the oldest entry. A blog entry is usually a short commentary by
the main “blogger”, complete with links to other websites
or other blogs. Readers can also comment on the entries, and their
comments show up within the blog for all to read. Give
it a try.
Free Wallet Card: Shoppers Guide to
Pesticides in Produce
When you’re grocery shopping, it’s easy to read labels
and pick foods that help you reduce cholesterol and saturated fat,
avoid antibiotics or artificial coloring, flavors and sweeteners.
But when it comes to pesticides on produce, consumers have been
left in the dark. That’s why we’ve partnered with the
Environmental Working Group (EWG) to create this handy wallet card
to help you choose fruits and vegetables that can lower pesticide
exposure for you and your family. Click

Guide to Pesticides in Produce.

“Who’s Who” Around the Farm
Laura
Stanton has been with Stonyfield Farm for over 11
years with a brief hiatus in Northern California. She was
lured from the banking industry by Stonyfield’s environmental
mission and product wholesomeness. Laura has held a variety
of positions ranging from Customer Service Rep, PR Coordinator,
to Regional Field Marketing Manager to her current position
as Product Orientation Manager. One of her favorite times
at Stonyfield was when she worked in San Francisco sampling
our product for what was only slated to be 6 months but turned
into a successful 2 1/2 year project!
Laura says she couldn’t love this company more unless
her name was on the front door. Her time here has literally
changed the way she lives and she feels more like a missionary
versus just an employee.

“Love Letters”
Periodically we like to share an email from one of our yogurt (or
in this case, our cultured soy) lovers:
Thank you for making a good tasting soy yogurt. My 1 year
old son loved to eat the YoBaby yogurt. He ate almost one a day.
After fighting a horrible diaper rash for several months, his
doctor pulled him from dairy. I tried another brand of soy yogurt
from my regular food store but he hated it. I even tried adding
some of my own fruit – he gagged! So I went in search of
a better tasting yogurt and was delighted to see your soy brand
yogurt. I couldn’t wait to see my son’s reaction to
O’Soy.
He loved it! Thank goodness I found it. I bet he wishes you made
soy cheese too! Thanks for your excellent products and dedication
to taste!
